Conservation Poster Contest

The annual Conservation Poster Contest provides kindergarten through twelfth grade students an opportunity to convey their thoughts about soil, water and related natural resource issues through art. The theme each year follows the annual National Association Conservation Districts (NACD) Stewardship theme.  Each year, the conservation poster contest starts at the local District level with first place winners in each grade category then submitted to the VA Association of Conservation Districts (VASWCD) to be considered for placement at the VA State level. Finally, Sate winners advance to the National Contest. National winners are recognized each year at the NACD Annual Meeting.

Any Girl Scout or Boy Scout who creates a poster and submits it to Eastern Shore SWCD for judging can earn the VASWCD Poster Contest Patch.  For more information about the VASWCD Poster Contest Scout Patch CLICK HERE.
