The Eastern Shore Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Directors meet the second Wednesday of every month at 5:00 pm to conduct District business.

Scholarship Opportunities - Applications Due Wed., April 24, 2024

Annually, the Eastern Shore Soil and Water Conservation District offers the following scholarships to Eastern Shore of VA residents interested in furthering their education in a field related to natural resources conservation:

W. Foster Fletcher Conservation Scholarship: Eastern Shore of VA residents who are pursuing an undergraduate college degree related to natural resources conservation are eligible to apply for the W. Foster Fletcher Conservation Scholarship. Students can be either a high school graduate or enrolled as a full time college student.

William H. Beasley, Sr., Memorial Scholarship: Eastern Shore of VA residents who are already enrolled in college in a field related to natural resource conservation are eligible to apply to the William H. Beasley, Sr., Memorial Scholarship.
Both scholarships are offered in the amount of $1000 each for the 2024-2025 academic year. Scholarship payments will be paid directly to the college of each recipient, and divided into two semester allocations. The second payment, however, will be contingent upon the successful completion of academic work. Recipients are expected to maintain at least a “C” average.
To apply for either District scholarship, students must complete an official application, which includes a 500-word essay, most recent official transcripts, and three letters of recommendations. Applications are due by Wednesday, April 24, 2024
