2022 Youth Conservation Camp - In-Person

The Virginia Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts (VASWCD) sponsors a week long summer YOUTH CONSERVATION CAMP for Virginia high school students (currently enrolled in grades 9-12) on the campus of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA. This year’s conservation camp will be held July 10 - 16, 2022.

The program brings together interested students from around the state for a week of learning about Virginia’s natural resources from conservation professionals and faculty from Virginia Tech. Most of the instruction is hands-on and outdoors.

This year, Eastern Shore SWCD in partnership with Ye Accawmacke Garden Club, will sponsor two students from Accomack and/or Northampton County who would like to attend. The Eastern Shore SWCD also provides $75 towards traveling expenses.

The purpose of youth conservation camp is to provide high school students interested in natural resources and conservation a fun and exciting week-long educational opportunity to attend a camp held at Virginia Tech.

To apply send a completed APPLICATION to Eastern Shore SWCD. Camp applications are due by April 29, 2022.
